Prof.Al-Johany graduated from King Saud University with Bachelor Degree in Dentistry in 1999. Then continued his postgraduate studies in prosthodontics and earned his Clinical Certificate and Master degree from Indiana University, USA in 2006. In 2007 he becomes, American Board Certified in Prosthodontics.

He was the Director of Clinics (2010-2012), Program Director of the Postgraduate Program in Prosthodontics (2013-2014) and the Vice Dean for Clinical affairs (2014-2018) in College of Dentistry, King Saud University and the Medical Director of the Dental University Hospital (2014-2018), King Saud University Medical City, King Saud University. He served as a Chairman of the Scientific Committee (2015-2016) and Chairman of the Scientific Council (2017-2018), of the Saudi Board of Prosthodontics, SCFHS.

Currently, he is a Professor and Consultant of Prosthodontics in the Department of Prosthetic Dental Sciences, College of Dentistry, King Saud University and Vice President of the Saudi Prosthodontic Society.
